The creativity and pathology of the human mind are two sides of the same metal coined in evolutionary mint. The first is responsible for the splendor of cathedrals, the second for the gargoyles that decorate them to remind that the world is full of monsters and devils. This reflects the streak of insanity that runs through the history of humanity indicating that somewhere along the line of ascent to prominence something went terribly wrong. Despite the superiority of the human intellect, its artistry and development, it contains some built-in error or deficiency which predisposes it toward self-destruction.
